SkyDrive gives 5x more storage for free

Microsoft’s free online storage tool SkyDrive recently increased to 25GB of free storage (up from 5GB).  With that much free storage, SkyDrive is a great way to store backups of your most important data.

Free file storage with Windows Live SkyDrive

As part of their Windows Live suite of software and services, Microsoft’s SkyDrive offers 5GB of free online storage space that can be accessed from anywhere.  Anyone with a a Windows Live account (also free) can sign up for  SkyDrive’s storage in just a few easy steps.  Files of any type can then be uploaded to the site, and organized into folders.  Private folders are accessible only to the account holder.  Shared folders are viewable to anyone that the account holder grants access, allowing for easy collaboration.  Lastly, Public folders can be set up, which are viewable to everyone.
